Rickey Silverman

Rickey B. Silverman, Ph.D 

Dr. Silverman obtained his B.A. in Psychology with honors in Psychology in 1972 at the University of Rhode Island. He received a M.S. degree in School Psychology in 1974, and received a Ph.D. in 1979 from the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Silverman has worked in private practice since 1979, and has also worked outside of private practice in correctional, residential treatment, and public school settings. Dr. Silverman has served as a board member of the N.H. School of Psychologist Examiners, as an investigator for the N.H. Board of Psychology; As a result, he has developed a comprehensive expertise in his field.

Some of the fields he specializes in include:  

  • Attention Deficit Disorder
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Substance Abuse

He also has considerable experience with marital and couple psychotherapy. Dr. Silverman is licensed to practice in both in New Hampshire and Rhode Island. He continues to practice working with children, families and group therapy, school consultations, and in other forensic areas. He also works with abuse victims, post-traumatic stress, accident victims, custody evaluations, and evaluations of psychological damages. Dr. Silverman was an academy fellow of the Professional Academy of Custody Evaluators and a member of the American Board of Forensic Examiners for several years.

Al Shigo
Al Shigo, LICSW, Ph.D.

Dr. Shigo has over 20 years experience in the fields of Stress Management, Dynamic, Short-term Psychotherapy, Conjoint Marital (Couples), Emotional Intensive, and Family Systems Therapies. Dr. Shigo is an advanced specialist in both the clinical practice and research areas of family and couples treatment, as well as childhood, adolescent and adult emotional disorders. Dr. Shigo has experience and expertise treating disorders including self-control and anger.

Dr. Shigo has extensive training and experience in treating children and adolescents with a wide range of emotional disorders.

Dr. Shigo is a provider for several insurance companies including Harvard Pilgrim, Value Options, NH Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna Behavioral Health, BHN, and MCC. 





David Friedler, MPH, LMHC

David Friedler began his career in psychotherapy and public health at Brandeis University where he took his BA in psychology. From Brandeis he attended Southern Connecticut State University for an MS in Counseling. After work in agencies, psychiatric hospitals and clinics he went on to The Yale Public Health School where he completed an MPH in Health Services Administration focusing in Mental Health

Much of his clinical interest and experience has been with adolescents, adults and straight and gay couples. He often works with people who have had difficulty managing anxiety or depression and concerns around sexuality, relationship, work, school, and addictions.

He has developed his skills in career coaching over his 15 years experience. He has seen the range of clinical issues from adjustment disorders to severe mental illness, and works closely with physicians, case managers and others to formulate a comprehensive approach to treatment.


 

Liza H. Colby, Psy.D.

Dr. Colby completed her doctorate in clinical psychology at Antioch University New England in May, 2009. She also completed her B.A. in Romance Languages at Bowdoin College in Maine and an M.S. in Human Services at Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio.

She has worked in public health, a partial hospitalization program for seniors, two residential settings for neurorehabilitation, a community health center, and a social services information line. Currently, she is completing her post-doctoral hours with Silverman & Associates.

Her specialty is working with people who have health problems or neurological impairments.She also provides psychological assessment.
